Week Nine

 Week nine’s lecture was also very engaging.We began the class at 1pm and madam began with taking attendance of the students present as well as those who weren’t in class the previous week.This exercise took about 45 minutes, after which she went ahead with lecturing us.She taught us the convergence of New media and we were following until some SRC aspirants came in to speak to us.These aspirants took much of the time and so after they were done,Miss Adenta decided to end the class for the day. And that was how that day’s lecture ended.

Week eight’s lecture

  It was nice to finally meet Miss Dentaa  in person.She’s lively and very beautiful just like I envisioned.Most of us got to campus early but couldn't find a class for our lecture.Fast forward,Miss Dentaa arrived and found us a lecture room.Once we were all seated, she began taking attendance one by one with Esenam as the first she called.Apparently,Miss Dentaa was also asking for our social media campaigns and pages for record keeping.One by one ,she called us to her table and asked us questions.This exercise took about two hours leaving us about just an hour for lecture.She also spoke of the dress code that was expected of us as her students.We used the remaining hour to discuss the advent of New media, and soon class came to an end. It was a good day!

Week Seven

 Today’s lecture was the last one for the year.As usual, we had an interactive class with Miss Adenta.Today, we went on to learn how New media has become a necessity or a need in our everyday lives..Today, for all our businesses, we use New media.For the dissemination of information, we use New media.For communication purposes, we use New media.This tells us that New Media is part and parcel of our lives. Compared to the days when technology wasn’t so common and communication with distant relatives was a thing to worry about,New media has brought a seamless and easy solution to all communication problems, businesses have developed strategies to interact with their customers or clients virtually and this has increased customer engagement and service.Job opportunities are now advertised on New media platforms to the public making it accessible to all individuals who seek employment. New Media IA

 The New Media course is by far my favorite among all courses for this semester.Before lectures for this course began,I basically saw New media as just social media apps which I use everyday…little did I know there was more to it than just that.I must say that my mindset has changed so much about New Media and it’s impact on me as an individual as well as the society as a whole.Below are three things I learnt from this course that has impacted my life greatly.       -I learnt that New media is a great part of our everyday lives.I realized how much New media has an influence on public opinion and decisions individuals make.As a result of this,I learnt that information verification or fact checking is vital for we as upcoming journalists because what we put on New Media platforms can determine the actions of people all over the world.Because of its universality,people worldwide can also have access to its content and hence the need to always share the truth only so tha...

Lecture Week6

 Wednesday mornings always feel better with Miss Dentaa’s lectures.This week…we learnt about how New media has become a part of our everyday lives.New media like WhatsApp,Instagram,TikTok amongst others have changed the way people think, play, learn and even work. New media plays many vital roles in our everyday lives, some of which are providing entertainment,  education, assistance, and connectivity with relatives and others worldwide.Some advantages of New media are Affordability (in the sense that New media is cheap to use and also cheap in terms of advertisement purposes,New media is also very flexible and offers freedom in terms of usage, there is no pressure as to when to use new media or not.Also new media is  a means of relaxation as it offers channels that entertain us after a tiring or boring day.These are a few uses of New media among the many mentioned.After Madam ended her lecture, questions were asked concerning our Interim Assessment which is supposed to b...

Lecture Week Five

 Week Five’s lecturer was interesting as always! Madam Dentaa always makes lectures so interactive and I’m always able to relate with what she says.This week ,she taught us about the characteristics of New media;some of which were Immediacy(that is how quick or the speed at which new media messages are sent without delay,Visual(that is the fact that new media messages are often more visual ),Hypertext(that is how new media provides a network of links to other texts that are beyond or outside itself and also how universal new media is.I understood everything madam thought and I wished class didn’t have to end.My brother who sat with me throughout the lecture made a statement at the end of my class which surprised me a little.In his words,”Your lecturer really knows how to channel her thoughts into words”And I agree to that a hundred percent,Miss Dentaa is the best!

Recap of Week four’s Lecture

 The fourth lecture of the New Media course was on the 20th of November,2025 at 9am to 10am.I joined the class about fifteen minutes after the class commenced and I was just in time because my lecturer had just began addressing issues we had with the creation of our blogs and social media platforms.So many concerns were raised by my colleagues , some of which were the fact that they couldn’t create personal blogs ,others had challenges creating Instagram pages and some others were confused as to how to go about posting their campaigns on their pages as well as tagging our lecturer on X at the same time submitting their URLs on the LMS platform.Miss Dentaa, our lecturer however addressed all these issues and before long ,class was over even though we couldn’t execute this weeks lecture.In all,I had a nice time learning.
